My husband owns an industrial machine shop-someone stopped by with a truckload of scrap metal one day trying to sell it. We purchased this piece-someone in Baton Rouge, La offered us $15,000 twelve years ago for this piece. This person was not an appraiser just a collector of this sort of item. We are very interested in its history and somewhat in its value.
