Money Saver: Wireless Photo Transfer via Bluetooth

Mobile phone companies charge a fee to download photos and music to your device. One reader at CNET outlines a budget-friendly alternative:
“I use an inexpensive Belkin bluetooth USB device I bought at CompUSA to transfer everything between my families [sic] five different cell phones and the computer at no cost. We use AT&T, T-mobile, and Sprint phones made by Samsung, LG, and Motorola. My kids always want to download photos and music to their phones, we also make our own ringtones and upload them to the phones. I can't afford the data transfer fees charged by the phone companies, nor did I want to buy five different data cables. We do it all for free with the one device.” Photo CC 2.0, Adam

4 Tips to Extend Your Lithium Battery Life

If only every gadget used the same type of battery, then you wouldn’t have to learn a new set of tips with every electronic purchase. But then I’d be out of a job—so here we go! Spicygadget.com offers 4 tips for extending the life of your lithium battery. They include: Try to avoid frequent full discharging of the Lithium battery. For lithium battery meter calibration, periodically do a full battery discharge, every 30 charges, to increase meter accuracy. Avoid heat—it’s the Lithium battery’s enemy. The temperature in a car can easily rise to 50F in a single hour, in some cases reaching 140F. If you plan to place your lithium battery in storage, be sure to have the charge at 40% and stored in the fridge (not freezer) for maximum battery longevity.

You already have a PS3, you already have a Bluetooth headset - so save yourself another trip to the store and pair any Bluetooth headset with your PS3 for voice chat. Here's how to do it from Gadget Madness: "Turn on your Playstation 3, and from the main menu go to Settings - Accessory Settings - Register Bluetooth Device "You will be presented with two options: "Register BD Remote Control "Register Headset/Microphone/Headphones "Select Register Headset... and put your Bluetooth headset into pairing mode. On your PS3 select Start Scanning "Select your device and enter your pairing code. In most cases for audio devices the default pairing code is "0000" "Now on your PS3, go to Audio Device Settings and change your "Input Device" and "Output Device" to your Bluetooth headset name. Try speaking and watch your 'Mic Level' move!"
