Learn to Tell the True Taste of Wine
Posted at 09:00, 25/05/2009 by JodyK
My palette is somewhat less refined, to put it mildly. Sweet, sour, hot, cold – those are the kinds of “tastes” I can differentiate. I can tell if a glass of wine is particularly rancid, or simply not to my liking, but that’s about it.

Perhaps that’s because I do not know the wide spectrum of tastes I should be seeking in a given glass. Luckily, the glossary at finewine.com has given me a little hope.

This comprehensive A-Z lists the huge array of tastes, textures, and colours associated with wine drinking.

So if you’re curious as to what makes a wine fragile or hazy, or wonder what it means when a wine tastes of apricot or green pepper, look no further.
