Choose a Great Basic Wine Glass
Posted at 09:35, 24/05/2009 by JodyK

Wine glasses come in different shapes and sizes, for the most part with reason. Some of it has to do with display, some with the wine’s breathing. If you’re a real connoisseur, you may want to invest in multiple styles for all your wine drinking needs.

However, if you’re simply looking for a nice, sturdy, yet classy wine glass, you should be looking for a couple basic things.

For starters it should be made of clear, thin glass. The stem should be comfortable to your hand (and holding style). The top of the glass itself should curve slightly inwards to focus the smells, while the glass itself should be large enough for swirling your selection (recommended minimum capacity of 20 ounces).

It really is that simple. Enjoy.
