Battery-Operated Toys Safety Tips
Posted at 10:37, 30/03/2009 by JodyK
Many toys these days are battery operated.

You may already know of the battery operating basics such as, make sure to install the batteries in the correct direction, lining up the “+” signs.

But did you know that you should not mix old batteries with new ones, or batteries from different name brands?

How about battery safety? When it comes to battery-operated toys and small children, you may want to keep the following in mind:
  • Children should never install batteries - an adult should do this for them.
  • Make sure young children cannot open the battery compartment.
  • Never allow a child to take a battery-operated toy to bed.
  • If a child swallows a battery, you must immediately call a doctor or a poison control center.
