Ten Ways to Reuse or Recycle Old Clothes
Posted at 18:09, 22/12/2008 by LauraWilliams

By doing your small part to reduce waste, you save money and help the environment. Before you toss another article of clothing, try these suggestions from Green Uses for Waste:

  1. Consider holding a clothes swapping party to update your wardrobe and get rid of unwanted clothing at the same time.
  2. Sell your vintage-style clothes to trendy second-hand clothes shops.
  3. If you have scraps of fabric make fabric flower brooches or use them for collages. Children will enjoy making these things, as well.
  4. If you’re feeling crafty you could use un-wearable clothes to make a rag rug.
  5. You can turn an old pair of jeans or denim skirt into a new handbag. This is fairly easy to do, even for a sewing novice.
