So you’re making the PC-to-Mac transition, huh? Bet it was those clever “I’m a Mac” commercials starring Justin Long in the US and Robert Webb in the UK. That’s what did it for me! First, make sure you’re running the latest version of iTunes on both your Mac and your PC. If you have an iPod, make it cross-platform. This will allow you to sync your iPod to both your Mac and PC without a hassle. To do this, connect your PC-formatted iPod to your Mac. iTunes will launch and present you with an error screen asking you if you’d like to erase this iPod and sync it with the iTunes library. Select cancel. Your iPod’s icon should appear in the left iTunes window pane. Select the iPod so that the summary information for your iPod appears in the main window. Check off the box marked “Manually manage your music and videos.” Transfer purchased music to iTunes. Go to the File menu in iTunes and select “Transfer purchases from iPod.” This will trigger iTunes to scan your iPod for purchased songs and add them to your computer’s music library. Copy the rest of your music. There are two different methods to do this. Click on the source link below to read them and learn about importing your library onto your Mac!
