Use Your Digital Camera to Test Remote Controls
Posted at 22:45, 19/06/2008 by LoriDeschene
Do you have so many remote controls lying around your house you need to explain them to guests? If one of them stops working, here’s how you can tell if it’s sending infrared light to your TV, DVD player, etc. (according to davesrepair.com):
Point the remote control at a digital camera or camcorder. If it’s working, the light will show up in the camera’s LCD viewfinder. The CCDs used in digicams are sensitive to IR, although our eyes are not.
