Take Better Pictures with Your Mobile Phone's Camera
Posted at 19:26, 06/06/2008 by LauraWilliams
Mobile phones and cameras go together like beer and pizza, chips and dip, pita and hummus…so why is it so complicated to get a decent shot? Turns out it doesn’t have to be if you follow Digital Photography School’s 12 Tips for Improving Camera Phone Photos. We’ve highlighted some of the best:
Edit images later. You’ll get higher-quality images if you edit them on your computer instead of using your phone’s inbuilt editing and effects. Always take shots in color at high resolution; you can make them black and white on your computer, but it doesn’t work the other way around.
Avoid using the digital zoom. This decreases the quality of your shot, making it look more pixilated. If your phone’s camera has optical zoom, that’s a different story.
Experiment with white balance. This allows you to modify the color balance of your images based on shooting conditions. It impacts different camera phones differently, so you should flip through the manual to find how it works on yours.
