Easy Fix for Scanners that Leave Streaks on Documents
Posted at 20:16, 09/05/2008 by LoriDeschene
Unless you’re naturally tech-savvy, you may find yourself spending hours reading manuals and calling tech-support to solve simple problems—like streaks on a document you’ve scanned. According to tech.yahoo.com readers, there’s generally a simple fix.
If the streaks are on the physical document after you’ve scanned it, use a clean, old white T-shirt and 90 percent rubbing alcohol to clean the rollers.
If the streaks are on the scanned image, you have grime on the surface of the glass. Grab that T-shirt and some glass cleaner to get it off. If that doesn’t solve the problem, you may have dust under the glass, on the scanning optics. Try using canned air to blow the dust off the lens.
