Three Ways Your Fabric Softener Can Save You Money

Barbara Hullet over at Helium is not impressed with the new, rebranded fabric softeners—and she has three good tips for using the cheapest generic liquid brand to save you time and money.
 
Use it as a fabric dewrinkler. Fill a spray bottle with one part concentrated fabric softener and ten parts water. Hang the wrinkled clothing, shake the bottle well, and spray a light mist over them. This will relax the fabric, but you still may need to press some items.
 
Make your own dryer sheets. They’re just little pieces of fabric soaked in softener and dried out! Pour some of the dewrinkler mix you made onto a small, clean scrap of fabric, and rub it in until it’s evenly distributed. Toss in the dryer with wet clothes.
 
Rinse you hair with it. Really! Fabric softener has the same basic ingredients as conditioner. You can use the dewrinkler spray and then rinse it out; or you can make a massage-on conditioner by mixing one part softener with one part water. Add more of either ingredient to match the consistency to store-bought conditioner.

rinse used baby wipes, spray with your recipe conditioner tip. can be used over and over even put in linen cupboard or drawers to keep clothes fresh.
