MyThings Tests Your Tips: Clean Red Wine Stains with White Wine?
Posted at 21:44, 29/04/2008 by Dina323

Sometimes we find tips that seem so unlikely that we just have to try them out for ourselves. So every week the ladies of MyThings will test one tipeither from a previous post or a member suggestion.

This week: can you actually wash a red wine stain out with white wine?

Our newest MyThings staffer Lori has once again endured the indignities of our Tips & Tricks testsand in purple taffeta no less (typical MyThings attire, mind you). My most vigorous (and grating) apologies couldn't wipe away the red wine stain. Take a look to see if a glass of Sauvignon Blanc could!

Check out last week's test where we explored the mysteries of smelly sponges.

You know if you didn't watch to the end, it could be easily mistaken for the start of a completely different type of movie. ;)

You ain't kidding. Although who would want to watch THAT kind of a movie if it involved any more of my insane giggling.

Oh Dina--you and your aggressive dabbing nearly misled poor Mobius. Thank God your insane giggling is moderately endearing.

Well I am so easily misled. But at least it's all clear now. The giggling is an essential part of the cleaning process right?

You bring up an excellent question. A volatile sulfur compound in onions causes tearing; the highest concentration is in the ends. Your microwave will break down the remaining sulfur enzymes—according to my reading, that is. Perhaps this is a great tip for us MyThings Angels to test out!

Doh!! This was meant for a different post...but at least it's slightly relevant since it foreshadows a test to come!

You could have left it at that and really really confuse and mislead me. :)

So in summary, when you see a woman in a white dress the procedure is: 1. Throw red wine at her 2. Laugh hysterically 3. Take her drink and pour it down her dress 4. Feel her up as much as possible while holding a paper towel 5. Optional extra: Make her cry with onions I think I've got that right.

Yup, you got it. That's exactly what you should do when you see a woman in a white dress. This would be the perfect what-to-do-at-a-wedding guide!
