After Juicing, Save the Pulp For...
Posted at 19:38, 25/04/2008 by LauraWilliams

You just bought a juicer and you’ve been having a blast experimenting. Then one day you notice the pounds of pulp you’re just throwing away, and somehow, what once seemed efficient feels wasteful. Waste not; want not! Yahoo! users offer their suggestions:
  • If you’re making watermelon juice, use the pulp as a light dressing for salad
  • Celery pulp is great for muffins
  • Use apple pulp to make apple pie and apple sauce
  • Add orange pulp to your muffin recipe
  • Vegetable pulp can be used for soup
  • Use carrot and celery pulp in meatloaf; it lightens it up and adds extra fiber
  • Add juice and honey to fruit pulp and dehydrate to make fruit leather
  • Throw the veggie pulp in with rice when you boil it
  • Mix veggie pulp with cream cheese and honey to use as a dip on crackers
  • Freeze the pulp with a little lemon juice and water—these sorbet ice cubes are great for champagne
  • Put the pulp in your compost pile or garden
  • Mix the pulp in with your pet’s food
