Double Your Frosting, While Cutting Calories
Posted at 21:49, 22/04/2008 by LauraWilliams
You use egg whites instead of eggs and apple sauce instead of oil for a lower calorie cake, but does the frosting negate all that clever substitution? Not if you have a mixer. Empty the frosting into a large bowl and whip it with your mixer for a few minutes. In no time, you’ll have more frosting—making each serving lower on calories and sugar.
If you like that little food tip, you’ll love the others compiled at DearDiary.net, like this handy one about measuring cups: whenever you need to measure something sticky, first fill the cup with hot water then dump it out. Don’t dry the cup before adding your sticky ingredient; that way, it’ll slip right out once it's measured!
