Put Salt in Your Detergent to Brighten Colors
Posted at 21:10, 21/04/2008 by Dina323

It's always slightly terrifying washing new, bright clothes. Even if they come out perfectly the first time, colors are usually dulled by multiple washings. Laundry-Alternative has a way to counteract the hard-water that causes fading:

"Add a couple of pinches of ordinary table salt to the washer with the detergent. Let some water run in the washer to dissolve detergent and salt, then add clothes. Colored clothes will come out much brighter."

Tastes better, too. A little pepper won't hurt, either.
