Canon MV450
Score: 65.5 (expert reviews:2 )
Score: 70 Posted 18-Mar-2002 by ZD Net UK
pros extended recording mode still capture to sd card progressive scan mode inexpensive smart accessory shoe. cons low ccd resolution bottom-loading tape mechanism dv out only. verdict a good entry-level camcorder for the undemanding consumer, but not if capture quality is your highest priority.

the mv450 might fall short for a few serious videomakers. after all there's no dv-in, no supplied software for downloading digital still images and the dreaded bottom-loading tape compartment has reared its ugly head. yet despite those practical faults this is still a tremendously versatile camcorder, capable of reproducing terrific images and good quality audio. it's all popped into an easy>easy to use package and comes with a realistic price, so there's a very large amount of people that it will make very happy.
