The Yamaha RX-V2500 has the potential to be an extremely useful component at the core of your home entertainment system. Recorded music on CD and high-resolution formats such as SACD and DVD-Audio sounded quite good, but I felt the AVR showed some weaknesses in terms of limited soundstage depth and low bass detail.

Pros: Plenty of in/outs and YPAO
Cons: None other than expensive
Conclusion: I can't add much to the other reviews here. I'll just say this is the best AV receiver I have had and I've had it for a year. I especially like the YPAO feature. You just set this microphone down where you sit and let the wizard trim the speaker outputs. Reviews on professional stereo sites say its accurate to within .5db which is as good as I could get with an audio meter. I wish more surround sound receivers had that ability. I am running 7 Mirage Nanosats and a Mirage sub with two old speaker

Pros: -Great auto set up -Great value! -Great sound quality and the "Pure Direct" is a nice feature -Comprehensive learning remote with nice programable macros -Delay feature is a must with LCD/DLP sets
Cons: -Remote buttons hard to read in the dark even with the remote lighting -HDMI switching would have been nice
